Booking a flight for someone else on my card?

My SIL is looking to book flights to go on holiday. I offered to do it on my credit card to give her some protection (she doesn't have a CC) but it has been suggested that she will need to show card at airport to collect tickets check in etc. Is this the case because obviously I do not want her to take my card , not that I don't trust her but will need it whilst she is away.

Most tickets are simply emails, very few paper tickets to be collected anymore. It depends on the airline, a few still want evidence particularly for very last minute bookings when the credit card payment may not have cleared into their account, that the booking is genuine and not fraudulent. Most others have no interest once they have been paid. To make sure check with the airline0

Shouldn't matter.
I went to Florida in May with Continental on a flight which had been booked with my mum's credit card (as I don't have one) and she wasn't travelling with us. No one even batted an eyelid.0 -

Some airlines DO and some DON'T - check with the airline.0 -
Read the website where you book very carefully. For example, with BA there is a box that you must tick if the owner of the card is not one of the passengers. If in doubt, ask.
As a footnote, be aware that the protection you get from using a credit card is rather limited, so she should certainly take out suitable insurance, and do so as soon as the booking is made. And check what extra charge the airline makes for using a credit card -- you might find that the cost is not justified by the benefit.0
