Minimally - but I've binned it until the Google Toolbar is available. Fat lot of good bringing out a beta if all the usual extensions you use don't work...
I didn't know people used toolbars these days.

Firefox (And most other browsers) have search bars built into them?

It's fast but most of the extensions are incompatible.:j:(
That usually happens, it takes a while for the programmers to catch up.

Add-ons are installed using .xpi files. If you uncompress the .xpi (with a program like 7-zip), and look at the configuration files contained within the .xpi, you can see a line that determines which versions of Firefox will allow the add-on to be installed. Often you can just change the version number and the add-on works perfectly...

I haven't tried DD4 yet (so no idea if add-ons are handled differently), but it might be worth a go if you want to get the most from beta testing... :)

    Rather a sniffy reply?!
I use the Google Toolbar because I make a lot of use of Google Maps and Google Images, which are buttons on this toolbar. Yes, I could do the same thing with bookmarks. But I don't.

Same here - the reason I use Firefox is for the extensions, so there's no point moving to a beta until everything catches up. I'm very attached to my NoScript / Adblock+ / Downloadhelper / feedly / User Agent Switcher / Web Developer etc!

I'll download it when my raft of plugins are compatible. at the moment, I still prefer firefox to chrome, because a lot of survey sites aren't compatible with chrome for some reason and the adblock plugin for chrome is rubbish.

Firefox still lacks the beautiful looks of Opera IMHO:-(

One excellent and oh-so-simple option found in Opera is a 'stop executing scripts on this page' checkbox for JavaScript. It's probably easier to illustrate how a couple of lines of Javascript can make Firefox (and most other browsers for that matter) fall down flat on their faces with a simple and controlled example:

    http://www.elblowfly.org.uk/scripts/javascript.php
(you may need to be familiar with the three finger salute for this one - CTRL-ALT-DEL)

I'm sure the seasoned hands here have seen this kind of thing before. Personally I'd like to see browsers fitted with a simple 'Kill flash/Kill Javascript' button myself - just because of this common browser weakness.

Whilst I love and advocate Opera (http://www.opera.com/) I do find occasional issues with some sites - usually not because it lacks anything, but because lame web developers do half a job and fail to identify it.

It's OK to have more than one version installed at once.

Groan. I installed FF4b2 into a new directory... but double-clicking the FF3 icon opens the newer beta version instead. I've looked at the FF3 executable file properties, and it shows that it's version 3.6.8, so the old version is still there...

Anyone know if there's an easy way to open FF3, or will I have to uninstall FF4b2 first?

EDIT: Ahhh... It's okay - it seems that you can't run the two versions of FF simultaneously. Close FF4b2 completely and the FF3 icon opens FF3 as it should - it only opens FF4b2 when FF4b2 is already running.

One of the reasons for having a lengthy beta phase is to give third party developers a chance to upgrade and test their extensions

Does beta 3 support lots more extensions than did beta 2?
