Because everyday life gets in the way.Dontknowanymore wrote: »I dont get it, why leave it until the last day to try and get through!
For us, we find we either do things as soon as they come in or they get left until they're urgent.
We couldn't do this when it came in as we didn't have my wife's self-employment figures. So it got left until the last week.
But as per my earlier post, it wasn't a problem for us.0 -

Same for me. Only got round to it on Friday 22nd July, after having read on here about problems getting through I was expecting a wait but got straight through to them, I assumed problems must have been sorted. Received award notice on Monday 2nd August so took about a week. I must be a very rare person to be impressed with the service!0 -
Hi - You must be unique!! - Have never heard of such a quick process turnaround!! Lucky You! Still waiting after 9 weeks and 2 phone calls...Boo Hoo0

I personally in 6 years of claiming tax credits ever had a problem, either getting through to them or having things processed.
I have never apart from the initial application sent in any forms/details, have done everything over the phone and it's alwyas been dealt with promptly, majority of my change of circs (and beleive me I have had LOADS!) are processed within days.0 -

I don't know if you are aware of http://www.saynoto0870.com but there is a local alternative to the 0845 number listed there and it is so much cheaper if you need to call again.
It's taken me two days to get through for a new claim . . . I lost count of how many attempts I made! Fingers crossed it will all go smoothly from here :cool::cool:mmmm, still seeking something witty to be my auto-signature . . . so this will have to suffice for now

While I think that at times that website is great, at others it is not so helpful.glossyhair wrote: »I don't know if you are aware of http://www.saynoto0870.com but there is a local alternative to the 0845 number listed there and it is so much cheaper if you need to call again.
Last time I checked with the standard BT package it was cheaper to call an 0845 number than a regular landline number during the daytime.0 -
I sent my renewal forms off in the post for working tax credit the day after I recieved them, that was on the 17 july, yesterday i recieved 2 payments from them just over £100, which i was not expecting. So it better not to delay any forums regarding Tax credits.0

I posted my renewal form on 27th July (and I put a first class stamp on it). I have not heard anything from them. Payment for both WTC and CTC due today - not received.
Not a happy bunny, I was counting on that money to treat the kids to some days out next week when I am off work. So now I am going to have to try and get through on the phone. Wish me luck... :wall: 0 -

the vast majority of claimants are probably like yourself and have had very few problems with tax credits, however people very rarely choose to voice their opinions when things go well so when reading these forums it appears that tax credits area nightmare for everyone.0 -

i'd be very surprised if your claim has been terminated that soon, they weren't due to start terminating claims till 6th and your payment due on the 6th would have been issued to bank a few days earlier.0
