Tomtom has the easiest user interface and gives consistently good routing.0

Have either of those got an ordinate input please?

I have a tom tom go 720 with the new firmware and i cant see any coordinate inputting so i presume its same for all tomtoms only streetnames, towns and postcodes0

Having used both brands I would choose the TomTom everytime. Much easier to use, much clearer instructions and better route planning. Not sure about ordinate input though...Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

TT has lat / long input.

Are you sure? You can enter latitude and longitude co-ordinates on all sat navs surely, as that is exactly how they work. On Tom Tom and Garmin, they are entered as POI (Points Of Interest) and waypoints.
Tom Tom gets my vote, better display and easy to customise options. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I have used both and always found TomTom the better out of the two, always found it easier to use and good display.

I doubt many people have used anything other than tomtom's.
Garmin's maps were better, But tomtom came and you could add silly voices. Instant hit.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I like my Garmin. I know that it's a big player in marine navigation and GPS so I thought, "If the brand is good enough for ships, it's good enough for my car".
Besides, I think "TomTom" is a silly name!0 -
Neither. I've had both in the past, but nothing compares to CoPilot Live if you have a compatible phone. I have UK and US versions on my iPhone and it's so much better. Not to mention cheaper. I've spent a grand total of around £25 for both versions and includes free updates.
If you can't get CoPilot, get TomTom. Never steered me wrong in France.0
