We went to Amsterdam in August, stayed at Banks Mansion Hotel which was a 4*, worked out about £150pn, which I know is expensive but the fantastic plus this hotel gives is apart from all usual 4* amenities, there is a free alcholic bar in the lounge downstairs (named brands too) and a free minibar in your room, inclusive of gin, cognac and whisky + mixers, etc.
Lovely hotel on Herengracht canal, very central to everywhere. You don't mention when your thinking of going, have a check through all the operators to get yourself a deal. You'll have a great time, 'window-shopping' proves interesting !!!!0 -
Try https://www.hotels.nl
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in August and was very comfortable. 4 nights (without breakfast) averaged out at just over £100 per night.0 -
On a similar but more MSE vein does anyone know any cheap hotels or b&b's in amsterdam? Needs to be fairly central and up to about £50 a night.0

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
Hope that helps0 -

When I go to Amsterdam, I always stay in the Amstel Botel. It is reasonablypriced and clean, although it is basic. It's main advantage is that it's unique and is easy to find as it can be seen from Central Station

This may be a bit cheaper than you were after but I've stayed here before and would again as it's so close to everything:
