Ok so OH gets paid on Thurs and I've got my £200 for the week so nothing more should be coming out of the bank account so now may be a good time to check progress made this month.
And its good news.
From the cutting back, ebaying, extra earning etc that we've been doing our overdraft is now down from 3K to 1K!!!!!!! :j :j
So we've clawed back 2K in one month!!! Unbelievable isnt it! Although I cant take all the credit as we had a payment owed to us from the tax credits which was several hundred. But still! And we have paid our holiday balance! And OH is owed £380 so the true figure overdrawn should be £620. Amazing!
So from £3k to (in effect) £620 !!! :j :j :j :j

Wow Roxie that is AMAZING! :j *teeny bit jealous!* Well done you on coping with the reduced budget, you'll have that OD cleared in no time now.
Once you've got the OD cleared, are you going to set a monthly savings target? You'll soon have a nice nest egg at that rate!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

Yes jules - that is the plan - just to go from the negative amount into a positive amount
like I said, cant take all of the credit. OH has the overtime and we've had tax credits back but I recko about 1K at least has come from cutting back, ebaying etc!! MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Back from a 2 hour wait with the boys in the dentist waiting room. Am absolutely exhausted and on the edge of tears. Oh will be home late as he's playing football tonight. Tidy up then get them ready for bed. I'm done for the day. Wish I had a tidy up fairy.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I've toyed with the idea of having, say, 2 half days dedicated to housework but it just isnt happening so far. How do other people manage? I feel like there just isnt enough energy or time or inclination for me to do and be everything that is expected of me sometimes
.
I work full time, am a single parent but just have the one DD. This is what I do in the way of housework.
Wednesday evening
Clean bathroom, put towels in wash
Thursday evening
Hoover all through downstairs
Mop kitchen and bathroom floors
Friday evening
Light wash
Dark wash
Saturday morning
Strip both beds, put clean bedding on
Hoover upstairs
Wash bedding
Saturday evening
Ironing
The kitchen is ALWAYS cleaned up after each meal time, surfaces wiped down etc. I would never leave washing up overnight (unless it's the odd mug etc).
The living room is always tidied as soon as DD goes to bed (or she will tidy her mess before she goes up - otherwise it goes in the bin)
I only dust and polish once every 3 weeks. Hate dusting
I might run the hoover over a couple more times downstairs during the week if it needs it. But only quickly, I wouldn't move furniture.
I iron the duvet covers during the week - going to do them in a minute.
Hope this helps a bit. Obviously your washing and ironing is on a much larger scale than mine.
I find that sticking to my timetable really helps. I also don't want to be doing housework all weekend when I should be spending it doing fun stuff with DD.It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Hi guys - thanks
it defnately has made me think. Can't believe how much we have managed to save and tbh we have felt it bait but not a massive amount. Am thinking maybe an evening at the cinema or something might be in order for me and OH as a well done treat
Well Tuesday I finally broke. The boys had been a nightmare and we were kept waiting 2 hours for the dentist. With niching for them to do apart from argue, try and wrestle each other and generally make me sick of the sound of my own voice. Lo also kept running out of the door so I was constantly up and down. Then got home and middle one dropped his dinner on the floor. Well that was the straw that broke the camels back. I cleaned to the downstairs, got the kids in bed, then bloke down crying in the kitchen. That was where oh found me. He sent me off for a nice long bath then ordered a takeaway so I didn't have to cook for us. So that was nice. I think it had just built up and my patience had worn so thin. Anyway tomorrow was much better, the boys were much better and I went on a spa night with my friend that had been arranged for a while (one of the £10 spa days). So feel abit more chilled today and want to have a day catching up on bits and bobs and doing some baking with the kids. Brownies today I think or maybe scones.
Hi poles, see I have to Hoover every day downstairs at least once, and mop the wood floor and lo is always picking up and eating off it! I also have at least one load of washing per day but have a massive backlog at minute due to the rain (don't have a drier). Need to get some kind of airer I think as it gets to winter. I clean the kitchen and tidy downstairs everyday but the upstairs tends to be neglected.
Need to do upstairs and sort out our under stairs cupboard as whenever I see it it depresses me.
