Italy - fines issued via hire company

Four months after returning from Italy, I get a letter saying they fined me twice in Bologna for some traffic violation................96 euro in total.....am not a happy bunny!

I suspect it was late at night trying to find a parking place in the old centre.....nevertheless its always hard to work out what some of their signs say, when its late, you're tried and the signs are poorly lit or you don't understand...................:(...:(

Rant over...anything I can do?

They've already deducted it from my credit card............it says that they can do that in the rental agreement......but only finding out 4 months later, and you can't remember a thing about.....they could sent me 20 fines...I wouldn't remember either...it stinks basically!
