Yes we do know each other, well we should... we're brothers.

This is our first foray into the Cash Hunt, I stumbled across it and pointed Kragen in it's direction.

I don't think either of us are regulars on any MSE forums even though I joined in April 08 and Kragen in Oct 04.

I stumbled on this thread from Google.

Aha - well they do say that two heads are better than one, welcome to the mad house, now you have found this thread you can look forward to the monthly obsession about people long dead and obscure places most people have never heard of :rotfl:

I'm liking the new link thingamaBob, I wonder if you might be on the right track there, it seems to fit with previous Cash Hunts and the way their clues seem to work! Good thinking!! :D

I've found this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henrietta_Georgiana_Marcia_Lascelles_Chatterton and she wrote a work called 'A Plea for Happiness and Hope', I'm not sure if it's of any relevance?

Bob's idea seem the way forward to me also. I'm not sure about Henrietta, but there are so many Lascelles and Hope's I'm finding it a bit confusing - no change there then :D

Wish I was as happy with it but after hours of checking all sorts of Lascelles links, I think I am losing Hope.

you're sounding very poetic there Bob :D

I started playing about with anagrams too, and came up with Canfields as an anagram of scalefind (Word two you must find). There's a Canfields Farm but I can't get anywhere with it. Thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
  • Been following this for a while and decided to join up. I agree with the Lascelles link and think that the flog/golf threw a lot of people off course (and into the rough?)

    Was just wondering if:
"Go homeward with hope" - Is this not an anagram of sorts either the "Go homeward" and "hope" or maybe just "homeward" and "hope"
I tried but I always was useless at Countdown!

Got to say it's my first time doing this and it is quite addictive.

Oh well, this is giving me a laugh at any rate.

    More ramblings:-

The last line is "Go homeward with hope and that's all for today." Reading this again, it struck me as odd that the word "and" is there at all. It would surely be better grammar if there was a full stop after the word hope, or a semi colon, not the word "and". Could there be a clue in the "and", i.e. should we be thinking of something on the lines of hope and glory or faith, hope and charity?

    Welcome to the madhouse klrbrd.

I don't think there's anything in it personally. It's a poem and each line is 11 syllables long, if the 'and' was missed out it would leave it a syllable short. (I think it's too late for me though, I went through about 10 spellings before I got syllable right) :)

    Welcome krlbrd
