Brand new shower faulty - any rights?

We bought a new Mira power shower approximately 4 weeks ago. Had it fitted 2 weeks later (were retiling bathroom) and started using it 10 days ago. Immediately it appeared we had no difference in flow between the half and full settings, but I didn't think much of this at the time really. Using it 3 days later I decided to try it all out, different sprays etc and this half/full setting. As I turned from the half we had it on to full, it slowed to what I assume is half power, and never went back! I asked DH to check it when he used it later that evening and he agreed. Spent the next day emailing customer services and them suggesting various things to get checked, which we did (and now it doesn't work at all!) but concurring it didn't sound like it could be installation faults as we have had the previous model of the same shower for 7 years with no issues other than it had started yellowing and so we changed with the bathroom revamp.
However, Mira *have* to come out to it, we can't return for a refund apparently, and stated that if its a product fault, its free callout and repairs, installation fault we pay £69 and are advised to get installer back out, and if its damaged due to installation or use then its £129 to be repaired inc callout.
I feel very very nervous that we are about to ripped off! The product guide clearly states that the fault we are experiencing is as follows:
The pump does not stop or change speed when the flow knob is turned.
Potentiometer failure - Renew the harness assembly.
PCB failure - Renew the PCB.
Quite separate to this I called Mira on Wednesday morning last week, was told engineer would call me by close of business on Friday to say when he would come. he called on Sunday lunchtime and can't come until Thursday morning! Shocking service!
I am intending to sit in the bathroom and ask him to talk me through what he does (or will this really wind him up?!) because I have an irrational fear of being ripped off and I can't afford to pay anything like what they want for coming out, but it appears I have NO CHOICE at all according to B&Q and Mira.
Hope this makes sense! Thanks for any advice.

You should have the same rights as anything else you purchase, so you could take it off and return it.
But I personally would have Mira come out and fix it, it would be the easier and cheaper option.
Mira showers don't have a bad reputation so I'm sure you will be happy once the repair is done.0 -
I have had the Mira engineer out before now and he was great. I had bought my shower new via Ebay and I must say I was very worried that they would refuse the warranty. But they were great.
So why not assume they will not try and rip you off.
Are you a glass half full type of person?0 -
Thanks guys!
Apparently removing it and returning it isn't an option, the manufacturer has to inspect to confirm its faulty first!
Engineer coming today. I have to admit to being very nervous although I am a glass half full person normally. I am completely broke though, which is the cause of my anxiety! Fingers crossed it is within warranty!

Warranty is irrelevant here. You're fully entitled under *law* to have a working product.0
