I would ask you do for now
Once everythings sorted you can always reinstall if you wish:idea:0 -
Thanks again, still no luck.
It wasn't the same process to reset IE on version 6 but I found it through the more direct Tools > Reset Web Settings
One Click scan suggested to remove registry links to files that were there - I even double checked a couple, I can remember one that was a WAV file.
Also, I couldn't find my Windows XP disc (I found '98!) when Glary Utilities asked, so I used a friends - it seemed to work!
If this isn't sorted I'm thinking of buying a new hard-drive and using my current master as the slave. Obviously I need to find that XP disc first...0 -
Run LSPFIX
http://www.cexx.org/LSPFix.exe
Download HostsXpert
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Hoster-Download-27041.html
and then follow the below steps.
* Unzip HostsXpert.zip
* It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
* Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
* click the Make Writeable? button.
* click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
* Click the X to exit the program:idea:0 -
LSPFix said no problems found and I've followed the HostsXpert instructions too. I wasn't sure whether to try but I opened IE and Firefox and still can't connect.0
