We have been numerous times and i leave my husband by the pool while i go to the shopping malls and to the souks. Yes men stare but do not hassle, dress reasonably modest when in souk and all will be well. Le meridien (at the airport) has the meridien village adjoining to it, with lots of restaurants and live music in jules bar and an Irish bar if you don't want to go too far at night. Taxi's are cheap and they have courtesy buses to malls and sister hotel at beach. Trailfinders is best for prices. I wouldn't hesitate to go alone, hope you have a fab time. i'll get there first as we are stopping for new year on way to OZ, 15 weeks can't wait.0
