Wow - what a day for celebrations.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Pollybear! That's a fantastic achievement!
    Happy birthday to Serena's DS
Pigpen's baby daughter is the 2nd pink born this week. I have another friend due tomorrow. I wonder if the pink theme will continue?

I've sorted DS3 and DD2's wardrobes and flung a large bag of outgrown clothes to the CS. I've also cleared out several cupboards in my utility room.

DS2 has just noticed that I've listed a Real Madrid football kit on Ebay. We bought it in Spain for him but as it cost alot we were saving it for Christmas. DS1 bought one with his birthday money and DS2 announced he hated the team! I couldn't take it back so this is why it's on Ebay. He now wants it! !i!iKIDS!i!i

Torrential Rain here this afternoon - Glad my new BBQ is safely covered up :D. The rain started as a misty drizzle so I decided to bring the still wet washing in - so glad! The guttering flooded again (bloody tennis balls:mad:) and water cascaded down the french doors that were cleaned this morning by the window cleaner:mad:

    Managed to:

    check smoke alarms

Well, on Sunday morning at 5.50 am I was woken by my upstairs smoke alarm going off - no signs of smoke or flames or anything nasty. Switched it off and went back to bed. Next minute, bleep, bleep, bleep, etc. Up again, switched off, back to bed. Repeat 4 or 5 times. Then it went into continuous mode, bashing it and shouting rude things at it did no good.

So, I dialled 999 for advice. 10 minutes later, TWO fire appliances turned up with all these hunky firemen (I may be 68, but I can still appreciate a nice hunk when I see one!)

Verdict was - faulty smoke alarm, and a few hours later a third appliance turned up, with more of aforesaid males (day shift this time) to change the alarm....!!!!

I noticed Mrs Nosey across the road twitching her curtains, but I think she slept through the first lot!

Brilliant news Pigpen!!!! A pretty pink one!!!

Hope you'll be more comfortable now - have empathised so much recently - DS (my offspring no 5) caused me similar agonies.
