Can an ebay seller tell me what to do please?

  • Just humour her. Life's too short. I've just sent out a £10 package without being paid for it. It sold on Sunday night and the seller contacted me yesterday and was most most apologetic, PayPal problems. Well ok, I sent it anyway. It's really only worth the £2 postage. In the end if he pays he pays and I've restored his faith in the world a bit. And if he doesn't pay, well lets not think about that yet.

If she'd contacted me, I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. But most of the time, people are just plain disorganised and they really do run their lives that way.

Yes - I was all indignant earlier but I think I will leave it until the end of the month to see if she pays. Can always relist then if she doesn't or pass the dress on to a friend. It would have to be the buyer of the £40 quid dress rather than any of the monsoon stuff that went for < £5.

I would agree - you've gotten a good return on that item, so i'd stick it out. But make sure the buyer knows how patient you have been about it all!
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I would give her the benefit of doubt. The price for your dress was excellent, and it's worth attempting to get that money. If you relist, chances are you'd get a tenner or something - that's my experience. And she sounds as organised as I am. Weird her not having a PP account, but there are lots of people who do not want to 'go there'.

300 feedback = at least 300 items to pay for.
300 times 23 or 32p stamp for sending PO or cheque
= £69-£96 on stamps!! Wow, that's dedication to avoiding PayPal...
    :wall:
  • Still no payment on the dress. If I leave it until the 28th will I still be able to start a npb dispute? (It will be 18 days since the end of the auction).

Hadn't really thought about it since, but agonising today about whether to spend £60 on a dress for my DD to wear to a wedding this weekend and would feel less guilty about that if two thirds of the funds were coming from the sale of an old dress.

tbh this reminds me of one that i had a little while ago, i got all the exuses under the sun, dont have a paypal account, now i have one but have to wait to verify it, cant send money through it, il pay by cheque, il send a postal order, nothing arrived i infact gave her nearly 3 weeks i opened a NPB dispute and she responded to it saying she had sent the payment (was the first NPB i had ever done and i was tempted to close it but didnt - luckily!) Needless to say the payment never arrived, even though i knew she could neg me back as she had responded to the dispute i negged her and was prepared to take any retaliation neg back after all that is what the feedback system is there for, i expected a neg back from her looking at her previous feedback but it never came!
I sort of get a gut instinct now when the excuses start flowing through and as i said before i would give her anymore time you have been more than fair start the NPB dispute :)
If the npb went through and you go tyour fees back and they got a non paying bidder strike they won't be able to leave you a neg - at least it won't show anyway;) Didn't realise this until i lodged my 10th npb this month and actually read it all through properly, i've never negged anyone who didn't pay me because i thought they would do the same - but they can't :D
