You seem to have an amazing amount of bad luck with the electrical items you buy.

Seems to be an expert at claiming refunds, compo etc. Wonder why he is on here?

I know where, but not to the minute. That store couldn't have sold many really.... how many would they stock? 10, 15, 20? How many would be paid for cash, 1 - 2?

If phone IMEI numbers are were stored 10 years ago, laptop serial numbers will be now.... plus, from my serial number, they can tell me my warranty has expired? How is this?

IMEI numbers are stored so networks can keep tabs on the number of phones sold vs phones registered, as they lose a lot of money to box breakers and will try to reduce it wherever possible.

The manufacturer also keeps a record of the S/N, spec, manufacturer date and then where it went (i.e. distributor), but the shops don't - they just scan in the barcodes (when they get a delivery and again when they sell it) which are the same for each of your model.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

The barcode on the carton that is scanned at the till is the same for all cartons containing that model. It will not carry individual information such as the serial number that will identify the contents uniquely.

Refund? When and where? I've never asked for a refund... Like I have said previously, I have had 12 months intermittent use of the Notebook, and was looking to have it replaced with one that is not defective, so that I could have reasonable use of a Notebook for the £700 I paid... as anyone would expect - Nothing unreasonable.

I have never claimed compensation in my life, and have no intention to. Of the £30 'goodwill' credit for screwing my credit file up in an attempt to ruin my life and destroy my character, the majority of went to an onchology unit at a cancer research hospital - just minus the £6.59 cost of the phone call!

I dont know how many of your 8,964 posts are constructive, but don't you have anything better to do?

Not not really I just had a nephrectomy in July and diagnosed with RCC and prefer a bit of fun to relieve the boredom.

I don't think I was specific about refunds I was trying to be more generic than that. :)
