    So is that:

    £228.99 - £18 - 30% = £147.69
    or
    £228.99 - 30% - £18 = £142.29

Regarding your 20 months point, is it worth pursuing that? How long should it last? what brought them to their offer? Why go out of their way rather than ask me to send it back at my cost?

You could certainly ask them to explain how they have arrived at that figure (which i would take to be the £147 as it should be -30% of the item cost).

As for how long it should last, well this is dependent on numerous things. Hence why i said about top range and bottom range (you wouldnt expect yours to last as long as a £1000 one would you?).

For most items i would say 20 months is a bit short BUT as i said, i dont have any knowledge of what would be considered cheap/low quality for those specific items (i have a gym membership as i dont have room for machines in the house).

I also have a gym membership, £60pm in fact, so I do not use it so much. It is a mid range spec with touch screen etc.. It competes with bigger branded models around the £450 mark.

£147 is reasonable to me. I was offered £125 for it, until they found out it was faulty.

£147 received. I still have the cross trainer, and the original one that just needs the axle fitting.

Well if you received the refund and still have them and are allowed to keep them, maybe put the money towards repairing one? :D

  • Or sell them both as faulty and make up the rest of your money!
