That's why having it inspected first is the thing to do, spending a hundred on an inspection will save you loads if the vehicle truly is a lemonExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!

As a former main dealership mechanic, I can guarantee you that a brand new car doesn't mean you're problem free. In fact, with some makes the first owner usually gets the unfortunate title of "Quality Control". I have seen a brand new car come back with emulsified oil less than a week later and when the mftr eventually gave permission for the cylinder head to be removed, after trying just about everything else over the course of a month, it was found that the original casting of the alloy was bad and there was a huge hole where solid metal should've been.0 -
Ford Direct only supply nearly new cars dont they?
I wouldnt have thought a 55 plate would be ford dealer quality.
Did they supply you a part ex vehicle from the dealer instead?
No 55 plate cars at my local dealer. Mostly 1 or 2 year old cars, Couple of high spec immaculate

sounds like the ignition coil pack has gone , very common fault on the ford petrol engines . i even changed one today on a focus 54 reg !
and driving the car with the engine management light on is not a good idea , the flashing orange light means there is something wrong and it needs checking asap !22864 quid and counting , but now proud to be dealing with it :j

Yeh - Am thinking the same thing and just googled to confirm but Ford direct cars come with a 2 year unlimited milage warranty and they also offer a 30 day exchange plan so something doesnt add up.
It sounds like a 55 plate px they took in and he saw before it went to auction. Previous owner probably saw the warning signs and decided to px it while he could.0 -

Sounds reasonable - I currently have an 05 Focus which has had one problem after another and last week agreed a part x on it before I have to pay out any more money!0 -
