:)A friend of ours who has just graduated is off to SA for a month or so at the end of August. He has a student acc with Halifax, not set up a graduate account yet.
He was asking if I knew the best way to take approx £1000 to SA, he is visiting Cape Town and Durban mainly.
I have never been there but I am assuming both have plentiful cash machines for withdrawal of local currency?
I am not a fan of traveller's cheques or taking loads of cash especially as some of the activities and accommodation might leave his possessions less than secure.
I don't think he has a credit card at all...
I use a Nationwide visa and a flex account abroad because they don't add loads of commission to transactions but I have no experiecne of travel in SA at all...
Any advice on which method to use, prepaid travel card perhaps?
