    :hello:

Just been catching up, lovely to see some 'old' faces on here.

I have pork ready for tomorrow (no time today). Was in Asda this morning and this guy was choosing a piece of pork shoulder when his OH and MIL shouted at him. 'We're not eating shoulder, it's too fatty, buy chops!'. Poor guy. I wanted to tell him. look up my friend jo's recipe it's delish!! Maybe he lurks on here??

I've been visiting my brother for past couple of days. I'm pretty happy (thanks to this thread) that I've become a much more social drinker. Sat in a beautiful location on Friday looking at the sea happy to sip just one glass of wine. Later out for dinner shared a bottle with OH, no more than my fair share, no bottles in my hotel room. This is an amazing turnaround. Previously I'd have had a bottle in my bag to stop me getting really twitchy. I'm still going to stick with some AF days each month but I'm delighted that when I do drink I'm sensible and it's easy!

Sorry to ramble but this thread is great:T:T:A

Hope Bear Towers is sparkling? Sorry to hear you're a bit down budgie.

    Hi all,

Hope you're all enjoying a relaxing weekend.

    All ok here.

I paid my bills (Rent, Electric, Broadband arrears, Ebay arrears and Pay Day loan extension fee) on time on Friday, which felt good.

The only grief came from BT, when a Supervisor called me back (at my request on BT's live chat online). He was arrogant, and really quite rude!

BT had decided that after 18 months of my being on monthly billing, to suddenly put me on quarterly billing out of the blue, resulting in a suddenly higher bill last week.

According to the supervisor yesterday, he was "concerned about the amount of refunds BT had given me in the past year, concerned about the amount of times I've felt the need to contact BT (that'll be Bombay Telecom then..) and that he was rather worried about the relationship between BT and [myself]" (I think he was breaking up with me..)

I told him I found him quite rude, and that I felt like he was telling me off!

He went on to say that "customers have to be on Direct Debit, if they want to be on monthly billing". I said that my annoyance was that BT charge a penalty of £1.50 if we don't go on D/D, whereas firms like NPower etc give a discount if we go on D/D.

He tried to say that it was the same, that BT would "save us the £1.50 if we go on D/D, and that it was all semantics" but I argued that it wasn't the same, and that BT have become so huge that they only care about slyly slipping in extra charges where they can!

Sorry for the minor rant guys and girls, but I HATE BT!!!

Alas I spoke to someone else after him, and they agreed to grant me until 10th September to pay off the £47.00. I just wish I could afford to pay it off today, but I can't. At least I've cleared all of the Rent / Electric etc anyway, which were obviously the priority.

I've done some washing and am about to hoover / clean up my flat.

While I did get very stressed yesterday due to the Pay Day loan worry (now rolled over for 1 month), and the rather passive aggressive BT guy who really p issed me off (I did hit my door frame..), I did feel 'at the end of my tether' and was at a bit of a loss as to what the hell to do next, but I didn't drink on it.

For years, I've drank on any difficult emotion, so maybe that's a minor victory there :)

Sober 3 weeks, with coffee, chocolate and the radio, and feeling quite good!

    Cheers,

    Sim x

I am so jealous, I had a craving for it yesterday but thought OH might think me a bit obsessive if I cook it for our 6th consecutive Sunday roast :rotfl: it is my fav though :(

What shall I have today, can't bear roast chicken, so it's gotta be lamb or beef or maybe turkey?

    What's everyone having?

    I want pork :(

Gotta pop out quick in a minute to pick up a couple of things I bought on ebay, 10am she said and she lives next door to Mr T's.....there's plenty of time for me to run in, grab a pork shoulder and do a 6 hour roast.....OH might kill me

What shall I do, got 10 minutes to decide!

You have a one track mind, lady! :p

Maman, love your post, especially the bit about feeling twitchy. I think that's where I want to be.

ETA: as in, I want to be able to enjoy a drink without the twitchy bit!
