DS1 has some form of results out today   Not the full GCSE, but results from the modules (?) he's taken so far. He has to go up to the school for them, anyway..... Does that sound right, jo? Getting information out of him is like trying to get me to hang decorations in November :rotfl: :rotfl:
These are good benchmark results for what will happen in a years time if he continues to work as he is at the moment.
I think his results sound quite good and gives him an idea on what he can improve on. He should have quite a good set of results next year if he keeps his head down :TDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Morning all
Day 2 of challenge done for me please Jo!
Yay - another day closer to the weekend. Off away for a couple of nights - staying in Travel Inn in Birmingham and doing lots of cheapish fun things with Piglet. Can't wait!:j
Having a morning of ironing Piglets nametags into his school clothes:undecided. Starting to feel a bit worried about sending him to school (and its a couple of weeks away yet!:rotfl:). Am sure I'll get over it after he's walked through the gates and I have a whole morning to myself!:D. He will do mornings for two and a bit weeks from the 9th of sept and then full time from the 27th. Not changing my hours at work till the 27th so that means two weeks of mornings to myself!. Its his last day at nursery tomorrow and Mum is making him cupcakes to take in for his friends and the staff. It will be a sad day as he's really enjoyed it there.:(

Morning
Congrats on all those excellent results, dissappointed DS1 here, but we'll get through it.
Overall we had a pretty pants day yesterday, but I did not wobble, and have hit the heady heights of 15 AF and day 2 of Jo's challenge.DC.

Oh thats a shame DC. Can he retake any that he's done poorly on?
Well done on not wobbling.

Your neighbour is really something else jo. Am I to assume your homes are sort of semi-detached but the parking space is between the two houses? Could you speak to the council about not consulting you?
They are semi-detached houses but masionettes so one up and one down with seperate front doors and staircase. They are double fronted so very wide including a pathway down the side so plenty enough room for 2 cars to park outside. Instead, they've painted the bay directly in the middle of the house???! Surely it would be better to stick her bay by the front gate end of the house and that would leave me room to park next to her and still outside the house!! I don't think the council need to consult anyone over it, but I am tempted to put in a complaint that it should be moved....wonder if they'd do it? This would also cause big upset between me and the neighbour. But what with the bay and the wet room which has a pump so loud that goes on for 15 minutes after the shower has been finished, I'm really getting the hump
Marru, hugs about your daughter, have you spoken to the incontinence people at your local hospital? Your GP will be able to refer you. They can give you a bed wetting alarm which is supposed to be quite good. Have a look on here: http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Bedwetting-Alarms.htm
I hope that opens the right page, I can't open it myself as my work system has blocked me opening it??? :rotfl:
At work and had an hours peace before it all starts off again with kids coming in with their results and telling me their life is over
Well done to everyone doing the challenge! Scores updated on the post above, didn't want to post it again cos all those well deserved smileys might booger up Martin's server :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Morning all.
Jo - I definitely think you should complain to the council about the parking bay. Your neighbour shouldn't be upset if it is moved a few feet to let you park too. She sounds quite a character if she is needing a disabled space but demolishes and rebuilds her fireplace.
Please may I join your challenge for the remaining 2 days?
I have the morning off as DS2 is off to Reading festival today and I'm in worry mode! The weather looks just awful from lunchtime until sometime on Friday!
Well done to those who got good GCSE results and commiserations to anyone disappointed.
Marru - glad to hear you passed your exams.

I'd definitely put in a written complaint to the council jo. As for your neighbour, I don't see as it matters if she's getting a space anyhow.
Sorry to hear that things didn't go well for your family yesterday DC. I assume as part of his apprenticeship your DS will have other exams to work for so he should soon get back on track. When he's licked his wounds he could think about the next set. :Tfor not having a s*d it day!!
Stop worrying DB, I'm sure the last thing DS is thinking about is the weather. So he gets a bit wet and muddy, he'll dry off on Friday:D Relax!!
Have a good day all. Im out to lunch but I don't think we'll be eating outside!0
