Well, today was NSD number 6!
Although my jubilation has been diminished somewhat by the news of a possible strike at Heathrow in 2 weeks' time... my Mum and step-brother are supposed to arrive from New Zealand on 25 August, I will be so sad for my step-brother if he can't get here because it will be his first time in this country and he's surprising his sister who lives in Wales who doesn't know he's coming. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Declaring today as NSD #5 :T
Off to OHs tomorrow for the weekend - but, as I've already got meals (and milk) in for DS, tomorrow should be an NSD (as should both Sat & Sun)
Forgot to mention yesterday that I did a 4.43 mile off-road run in the morning (kicked off at 8:30am). Took me a little longer than I would have liked (53 mins 39 secs - should have been under 50 mins) due to the fact I took the dog !!! He started to put the brakes on at around the 3 mile mark, and when we hit the two inclines in the last mile he wasn't having any of it...... got a few amused smiles from other folks out walking dogs when they saw me (literally) dragging a 32kg dalmatian up them
Been out with the running club tonight on a 3.46 mile route. It was the same one I did (and had problems with) 4 weeks ago, and I did the initial uphill stretch 2 weeks ago (when I still had to stop for a rest and drop to a walk several times). But last Thursday I took delivery of a new heart rate monitor which can be set to show me my current speed, so I used that to stick to a speed I know I can do (allowing myself to slow down on uphills and speed up on downhills) instead of trying to keep up with the others. Worked a treat, and not only did I get around without needing to walk or stop, I also managed to push myself to a much faster speed for the last third of a mile (which includes a short but definite incline) without killing myself :T
'Spoke' to OH (via text messages) tonight to let him know how it had gone, and mentioned I could do with trying the route of the 5 mile race I'm doing in October using the same method this weekend - I tried it almost 3 weeks ago, and ended up walking about a mile of it - so he's suggested we do it together on Sunday as 'our' first runCheryl0 -
Oh I forgot 8th NSD for me please Spoony x

Good morning all!
Having a rest today after spendy/busy day yesterday.
Did big shop yesterday, so Im well stocked up and happy despite going over my GC budget. I reckon by the 20th (pay day) I'll be about £15 over for the month. It's not too bad since I had to stock up with dog food and washing powder etc. Got lots of whoopsies too so have plenty to see us into next month.
Completed my mystery shop assignment, then came home and did a bit of housework and knitting.
Finished off my spend day by buying tickets for Mum & me for John Barrowman. He's coming to Edinburgh in November. My Mum adores him and I must admit I like him too, and, although he's not my usual type of music, he's very easy on the eye;) I'm really looking forward to it as it will be good for my Mum to have a night out. My Dad has mobility issues and when they go out together she's constantly worrying about him, so it will be nice for her to have a "night off". We might squeeze in a wee Italian meal before the show too!
Today I'm not planning to do much, just pottering! Must get on with my knitting!
Have a lovely day everyone:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Morning all!
After the excitement of sorting out the finances yesterday its back to earth with a bump today!
I have to buy two bread rolls for burgers for tea (they sell them as singles cheaply in the shop round the corner) but I have enough in the penny pot to pay for them without spending real money IYSWIM.
I also have to post a letter but again should have enough not in the purse to pay for a stamp.
If I can stick to that it'll be a NSD for me (by my rules!) - should be less than a pound and not from my budget.
Let's see if I can stick to it!0 -
