Evening folks, just popping on to say hello before I begin cooking a beef casserole for dinner - bit of a lazy version as I've bought a bag of those casserole veg for £1 which isn't very MSE ... I will chose, peel and do my own veg next time....

Jinty - if I didn't live virtually at the other end of the island (can't say country as I know how sensitive the Scotland/England thing is ...OH from glasgow ;)) I would be very tempted to come and stay with you for the next few days...your planned meals sound delish! I'll swing by next time we're 'up the road' to visit the in-laws (or is that out-laws? :rotfl::rotfl:)

So glad you guys found that book link useful, and I can't beleive how popular that book is, but I love it - for one thing, the store cupboard listings are usaally what 'us normal' folk have in our cupboard...sorry Jamie but I just don't tend to have a stockpile of ground truffles or pink sea salt for my everyday cooking! :rotfl::rotfl:

Been a bit naughty spend wise today - firstly I popped back to Mr TK to get those boots in a 4 and decide what ones I am going to keep, then I did resist the towels...but only because the one bath towel they had left had a big laddery pull in it :( I did get 4 lovely glasses though, tumbler style for £1.99 each made of recycled glass, they're really unusual and I love them. They had tons of nice home stuff in store again.... so 4 glasses wasn't too bad given what I could have happily purchased :o:o

NSD planned for tomorrow as I stopped at Mr A on the way home and did a BIG shop, so me, OH and kitty all taken care of for the forseeable future. :)

    Hey Kerri,

You're welcome to stay anytime - plenty of room in the sheds - remember I fitted all you lot in over the weekend LOL! ;)Thanks for the compliment re meals - I am tempted to buy that cookery book for myself! I agree, I also get fed up with TV chefs that include "odd" ingredients in recipes. I like watching them though! Dont feel guilty about the casserole veg - I use frozen casserole veg for soups as I find its just as cheap plus there is less waste as there is just the two of us. PS , my OH also from Glasgow!

    Morning all!

Hi Spoon, here's a link re stovies - its just a way of using up leftover meat. You can also use sausages or corned beef. Its one of those things that everyone has a different way of doing it. Dont be put off by the picture, they taste better than they look! I dont use dripping tho, just a wee bit of lard will do.

Back to work today, so I'll be getting my final NSD and reaching target today by the skin of my teeth!;)

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

Ok, I'm declaring at 6/10 for August as I'm going to get the childrens trainers today so it will be a spend day.

I WILL make my target next month!

Yet again I do not meet my target, what am I doing wrong?? 9/10 and have plans today (so need petrol) & this evening (will buy 1 drink). I feel like I barely spend any money but this is clearly not the case.... :o
