:jWELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER NSD CHALLENGE:j
There are some interesting days to celebrate this month. Did you know , for example, that September 12 is “World Rubber Day”, or that September 19 is “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”, or that September 26 is “European Day of Languages”?
Well to add to that very special list we have the “No Spend Day” and you can celebrate as many of these as you like in September with no special arrangements, expense or costumes necessary.
Our happy (and some might say slightly insane) group has decided to join forces to do battle with the twin evils of dosh and the retailers who insist on tempting us to spend.
We are seriously committed to saving money, but nobody said it can't be done with a smile on your face - so we organise riotous nights out and gatecrash any function going - all without leaving the comfort of our own imaginations or armchairs!
On a slightly more serious note, we are here to help each other avoid spending for the number of days we feel we can manage to try to take back some control over our hard-earned money. What you class as a "spend'" is entirely your choice; some people will try to shop on the days DD/SO etc are paid, whilst others will not include essentials such as rent.
It’s amazing how inventive you get when you’re determined NOT to spend - from weird menu ingredients to surprising DIY solutions-- but you know what? 99% of the time those wacky ideas work.
Have a look at our August thread (link below) to see what a friendly group we are. New recruits are joining up all the time - everyone is welcome so please don’t be shy, come and join us.
Good luck everyone
Outings planned and NSD birthdays for September
Outings

19 Sept: pirate day (destination secret)
Birthdays

hi there, I'm aiming for 20 NSDs in Septmber. Anything to stop me buying lunch and breaking into a fiver!!LBM 27/12/14.
January Ebay and Amazon aim: £500. £22/£500 January weight loss aim 10lb. 0/10.
1 debt vs 100 days challenge £22/£500 by 7th April.
Nsd January aim 20. PAD starting 29/12/14 £20 -
August was horribly hard, so may I keep it to a simple 8 again please Spoon?
This time without ANY cheating at all...
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Oh now we have GOT TO do something with that! We really really can't ignore that! Especially not me, everyone knows all the most ruthless pirates are always Cornishmen!
Can we hijack the Scillonian? Aww go on! Let's hijack the Scillonian on September 19th! :j
For anyone who doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about, the Scillonian is the ferry which sails from Penzance, where all the best/worst pirates obviously come from, to the Scilly Islands. As such, it is probably the only boat in Penzance harbour on any given day big enough to be hijacked by the entire NSD crew and having... (and this is the important bit)... an onboard PUB.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.

Good luck everyone xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Frittering small amounts on rubbish is a huge problem for me, so I'm going to try and get organised and buy what I need each week. So I'm going to take a big plunge and go for 15! :j
I'm not going to count DD's but everything else will be counted. Unfortunately today won't be a NSD as the coal man is coming later. Not the best start!Debt at Highest: £27,000
Debt at LBM: £13,927
Debt now: £1656.61 :cool:0
