Good morning everyone!
The weekend brought me a successful run of NSDs, so I'm now up to NSD number 10!trulymiserable wrote: »Just been reading some of your posts and ive ben trying the sealed pot challenge , may give the NSD a go this month can anyone else recommend any other challenges??
The Weekly Spend Challenge is a good one, which I find compliments this one really well.If you are looking for a great place to live and bring up your son, and don't mind travelling a fair way...have you thought about Orkney? My mother's family is all from (and still live) there and I lived in Kirkwall from the age of 2 to 6. We then moved south to Caithness, so not far, and a possibility if you want to stay on the Scottish mainland. I love the slower pace, and the wonderful scenery. Education is great, and housing is cheaper than England.
I love the Hebrides - but may have to check out Orkney now! Good luck fi76 with the move and choosing where your new home will be!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

Not sure where you're from but Norwich is lovely. Yarmouth is quite commercialised as it is mostly holiday business (some might say tacky but each to their own). Anywhere in North Norfolk or between GY and Norwich will be quiet.
DH wants to live in 'the country' with no neighbours and a couple of acres of land. We are in a village just south of GY and we already live within 10 minutes walking time of open farmland, woods and free roaming cows and sheep! I couldn't see him living in a city. I did Sheffield for 2 yrs with work nearly 20! yrs ago and thoroughly enjoyed it but still came back so it can't be that bad.[/QUOTE]
:rotfl:LOL, Your DH and mine seem alike, we were looking at houses last night and he only likes detached ones that are are at the end of a village next to a field!! We are looking around Brundall/Lingwood/Blofield, is this a nice area? It looks like we can easily get a 3 bed there for the price of our 2 bed here, i only know North Norfolk though so unfamiliar with this area but looks nice on internet, think we are going down next week for a few days to check it out.Total Debt May 10 = £580920 -
Morning all!
After a spendy weekend I'm trying to get back on the wagon today - Saturday was a night out and yesterday I only spent a few pounds but it was still money spent.
I don't NEED anything today and only have plans to take the dog for a walk in the park and won't take my purse with me so hopefully spending will be avoided.
Good luck to everyone else!0 -
If you are looking for a great place to live....
....We are actually thinking of Norfolk, anyone got any advice....My advice is..avoid the south coast like the plague! It's incredibly expensive & the wages are poor, plenty of care work available as the entire area is riddled with old people's homes [Eastbourne & Worthing are lovingly referred to as God's waiting rooms
] & you may live within spitting distance of the beach but can't use it in the good weather for all the tourists! Our closest discount stores are at least an hour's drive in each direction & sea-side towns are full of 'holiday homes' or rich folk who go 'up to tyne [London] vee-ya the rail netwark' so they can kid on they're 'something in the city', making rail travel costly & crowded too
NSD number 1 for me today - did not leave the house, slept alot of the day due to the jet lag.
LOOK what I found! All this time & I didn't know a list of Challenges was there for the asking :doh:I haven't signed up for the No More Clothes or Toiletries, cuz I rarely buy either anywayLet me rephrase that  I rarely buy posh toiletries--didn't want you to think I don't wash :rotfl:--& a distinct ADvantage to suffering sensitive skin & perfume allergies for a change.
Well--I've cracked double figures with No 10. Several harmonious tunes but think I'll go with ....
10 little 9 little 8 little
7 little 6 little 5 little
etc etc. Used to sing it with the kids & hold up/fold down fingers as we wentActually it is a very good exercise in manual dexterity & falls under Physical in the national curriculum, under Fine Motor Skills *polishes fingernails on lapel & looks condescendingly at them*

Didnt go anywhere yesterday, did a bit in garden instead and made dinner so Ive racked up nsd 8 and I hope for another today, as a)bank balance is only £7 odd, and b)don't need anything today, (ok so Ive got no chocolate I'll have to eat wine gums (oh's) or make a cake)0

Uh oh, no NSDs out of the last three days.
I'd planned for Saturday to be an NSD, but I just didn't have enough food in the house to make it possible. And Friday and Sunday I was out with friends.
But today definitely!!!
Eek, assuming I get today's one, that will mean I have to get 8 more by the 31st, and there's a bank holiday weekend in the middle! I must say, it's not looking good !!!!!
EDIT: Just saw the "exceeded" prize for this month... a smiley on the beach... I WANT IT !!!You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -

Oh, how I dream to live around that area. Not much there if you like that sort of thing. Your nearest built up area would be the outskirts of Norwich which has a Mr S (prob about 15 mins in rush hour), a M4cro and a Str4rtrite factory shop or Acle the other way (10 mins) which only has a L1dl! It's about 20 mins to get into the city on a good day, 20 mins to the coast. GY has Mr A, Textra & S and Ald1/L1dl, TKM4xx, N3xt plus others and obviously Norwich has much more (we're not completely out on a limb!)
Getting to and from anywhere can be a bit of a task though as the roads aren't that good. No motorways, very few dual carriageways, the Acle straight . To quote one of my old teachers "It's not a problem, it's character building". Mmm.
I think this is outweighed though by how peaceful and quiet the area is.
Hope you enjoy your trip.
Don't think it will be an NSD today as I intend going out and getting DD the last things she needs for her holiday with mum&dad. Shouldn't be too bad a spend, probably about £15.
BigMumma, I love your indian smilies. I sing the same song with my mother & toddler group but the indians are replaced with 'monsters'.......1 little monster that's me. Arrrrrrggghhhh! (I think it has something to do with the song being a reference to slaves in India rather than the Native American type and it's meant to be very non-PC now!) But I still love it
Have a great day everyoneLife is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!
