I am bumping this because last post couple more quesrionsAny idea if the web addresse I showed can get my bank details if i go onto bank site..and why does my virgin scan show no viruses?0

Have you run the malware suggested. Re virgn scan, not all antivirus software picks up everything. There will be a file on your computer somewhere that needs to be found.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Because VM's AV software is rubbish?
You probably can't get onto any other site, because it will just redirect you. Take the advice given and run MBAM and HJT as suggested, follow the sticky at the top of this board for full instructions. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
thanx.I will try this tomorrow..though I am pretty useless tech ..on tech...But I am still wondering if the web site I am showing was brought up by Virgin ,who when trying to get us on line Saturday..kept telling us to press F8 button.
Also again...If I wemt onyto my bank account,,Would it be safe or not?

The website you are being directed to will have nothing to do with Virgin. I don't know how safe it is with bank details, I'd run all scans first and get shot of it.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Why can't you just accept that you have a virus that has hijacked your browser? That page has nothing to do with VM. You would be ill-advised to do any online banking until your system is clean. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Install http://www.malwarebytes.org/, update, FULL scan, let it deal with anything found
Install http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ scan, post the log
The sooner you do it, the sooner you'll get answers.!!

thanx folks..as I said I am not techie..and this is the first prob .like this I have had in 10 years of using comp..I will do what 'closed' said in the morning
P.S I presume the Free version of malware will be ok?0 -
yes, the free version is fine. once installed, make sure you update it first, then do a full scan.
If you have problems running it, reboot your pc in safe mode with networking (keep tapping F8 after you hit the power-on button for the menu screen with the options on)......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
