virgin media - advice please

hi

bit of advice please.

my patience is slowly running out with virgin media .

we have been having problems with the tv service where the channels eurposport, bbc3, bbc4, cebeebies, some movie channels keep scrambling it looks like a jigsaw and the sound is delayed and crackles. ( like a kidnapp ransom request)

i have phoned them several times and keep being told to check the cables and reboot the system. I keep doing this and nothing changes. Checked with friend in same road and theirs is working perfectly.

Today i have phoned them again to be told it is a network problem in the area and should be ok in 24 hours.

contract is due to end in December.

What can i do? (dont want to wait until December.)

thanks

    Hi
We have only had ours for 2 weeks and it does the same after phoneing them we were told to pull the plug from the wall and it would reset itself .
Then had an engineer came out who said we do not have any new boxes to replace this call back in a week , so now we still get the interference and do not get any tv listing .
we have ours for an offer of 2 months free but at this rate they can stick it .

this is what their off shore call centres are advised to do/tell you (monitor & call back) ....
go onto their online forums, (from VM actual site) advise the same regarding the service (lack of) you have had and they will arrange a technician.
The majority of issues regarding freezing, blanking or a intermittant loss of picture correct within a day or two which is why they tell you to call back or monitor, when it continues as yours has it needs further attention.
Regarding your contract, if they are willing and are actively fixing your fault (they dont appear to be) then they are held in account of that. You have to give them the opportunity to come to the house and fix the fault 1st. If they wont send someone out or they can not fix the fault then you have reason to disconnect.

    Hi
After speaking once again to customer services and a supervisor I was on to cancel it , they asked if they could come out one more time and try and fix it . so today they have come out the main fault was in the box and they have arranged for us to have a new line put in and another new box ( not a reconditioned one ).
so he left me the tel of his boss so when you kick off they can fix it .
