iphone 3g 8gb problem

hi my girlfriends iphone 3g 8gb has several dead pixels unfortunatly she failed to tell me about them. I spoke to apple and been told its 229 days out of warranty. anyone had apple fix this problem outside of warranty?

or any help?

    How did she get an 8gb 3gs 229 days ago???? They only started making them this year?

    sure its not a 16gb?

    its within a year its fault phone apple. Networks seem to be walking away from handset issues from as early as 8 days!

    The dead pixels will mean that you need to replace the LCD. There are kits available on the internet. Just type in "iphone lcd replacement" into google.

    Presumably they do not bother her as she "failed" to mention it to you.

    it's a 3g not 3gs.

    the reason i wanted it fixed is cause im giving it to my dad and personally the items i have are immaculate so annoyed to be giving something faulty away. Could i buy applecare and say i hadn't registered it when i got my phone?

    not worth it for just a 3g 8gb get them £100 now 2nd hand. I paid 350 for a brand spanking 32gb 3gs.

    Plenty of 3g and 3gs available second hand.

    blame yr gf not apple should of told u along time ago duh!

    live with the fact that it's a second hand phone, and don't be snipey at your girlfriend.

    it really is the kind of thing that doesn't bother some people.

    i'm sure your dad will be grateful to be gettign a free phone.
