Vodafone scam - mis sold a contract
About 15 months ago vodafone were very insistent that I renew my contract with them.
They came back to me on a few occassions with offers on the phone I wanted & each time came abck with a cheaper deal.
It went from £35 a month to £22 for a blackberyy storm.
I did state that I wasn't prepared to enter into a 24 mth contract as in my experience phones dont last that long.
they came back to me & offered it on a 18mth contract to which I agreed.
After a year & called them back to buy a new phone as the Blackberry is not a good phone for me. They refused to do anything as they stated I was in a 24mth contract. I queried this & they told me to produce proof.
I have complained again to them & they won't lsiten, then rudely tell me Im stuck in a 24 mth contract.
I ahve tried twice to be put through to a manager on the phone. On the last occassion they also refused to do thsi thelling em the manager was out playing golf.
Im seriously thinking of cancelling payment for this & the other phone we have until they changed this to the agreed 18th mth contract.
Is there anything else I can do as I don't like being ripped off by Vodaphone

Well - DO you have any proof it was an 18 month contract? No paperwork at all? Tell (not ask) them to get the call so they can listen to the call when you upgraded.
Cancelling the DD is the worst thing you can do.0 -
Did they not send any paperwork? When i renewed over the phone, they sent me a letter confirming all the details, which incidently were not as agreed over the telephone. But as it was within the 14 days meant i could sort it out
Don't cancel your direct debit, they will pass on the debt to whoever and enforce it
Out of curiosity, how were you planning to change your phone after 1 year on an 18 month contract?0 -
I was wanting to purchase another phone myself from Vodafone & asking about options, but they refused to discuss it

Just buy a sim free or pay as you go phone and swap the cards over. Most phones in carphonewarehouse are unlocked generic ones. Just get the phone you want on the network thats offering it for the cheapest price0 -
Ive been looking to do that nayway but I want Vodafone to sort the issue
I did go into CW but they tell me all the PAYG phones are locked as they are subsidised by each network. They are quite expensive for PAYG phones compared to quite a few of the others
Due to the hassle Im just going to get a sim only deal in furture with no contract. It seems daft to be pushed into 2 year contract snow as most phones Ive had only last a year.I do need the number as its part of my business & as Vodfone don't wnat to sort the issue I can't afford to lose the number
