Mis-sold mobile insurance
Hi
I wonder if someone could give me advice as to what to do. I renewed my mobile contract with Orange and was told that for £16 a month I would get 200 mins and unlimited text plus mobile insurance. I wasn't really bothered about the insurance but seeing as it was included in the price I thought it was fine. A number of weeks later when I checked my bill I noticed that the insurance wasn't included in the £16 and they were charging me an extra £7 per month for it!! I phoned them up and they basically told me there was nothing they can do about it as the 14 days cancellation period had passed!! I tried to argue that I had been mis-sold it but that fell on deaf ears and now I'm paying £7 per month for a service I dont want. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks

They will have had to quote you the terms and conditions of the insurance, and they are not allowed to give you insurance either for free or as part of a bundle because this is against FSA regulations, and I'm pretty sure you can cancel Orange Care any time you want0

Yes; just cancel the insurance. Put the request in writing by recorded delivery, just so you can evidence that your instructions were received. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

Insurance i think is only a min term of 3 months, then you can cancel.
I am considering to cancel my orange insurance as i think its covered by the home insurance. However my mom has a zero claim history on contents with £100 excess, and I know mobiles are so suspect to "water" damage by normal usage in dry conditions. I do not think it is worth putting a 5800 on home insurance.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
