If they are your own personal DVDs then I would have thought virtually any DVD burning software should be capable of copying them. It's only the commercial ones that will be encrypted.

I use Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009 which I got free (don't know if it always is or it was some special offer) and that offers the option to copy DVDs.

If there's no protection on the disk then have a look at ImgBurn.

I can understand MSE rules regarding not discussing how to defeat various protection mechanisms employed by DVD manufacturers (although discussing how it's done is not illegal anyway), but I don't see how it is against forum rules to ask what software people recommend for duplicating DVD's.

No apology is necessary from you.
Your wedding DVDs probably don't have copy protection.
Other people are jumping in with both feet.
It is they who ought to apologize to you.

    Agreed Bat999,

Posting details of software that can copy non-protected DVD's is not the same as recommending software which breaks copy protection that is capable of copying protected commercial DVD's

The first I feel is within the rules. The second is definitely not.

P.S As long as they have copyright to the original Wedding DVD (or have been given permission) ;)

yes, my post was not aimed at the original poster but someone had asked the question about why the coversation was not allowed on the forum in general

perfectly legal to copy your own DVD's etc that are not copyrighted , and imgburn will do it for you

apologies to antbann for any confusion
