Sorry i havnt been back yet guys, saw more last night. They look a lot like ball lightning but move faster and from west to eat in a straight line.

Turns out over the past year there have been hundreds of reports of the same thing in my town.

    http://www.uk-ufo.co.uk/2009/08/kettering-northants-22nd-august-2009/comment-page-1/

There a fair few comments on there all saying the same thing.

Just for the record the alien thing was a joke lol...

Some are saying it could be missile guidance tests? ie blank missiles given the speed, flight path and the fact that people have used binoculars to view them and have confirmed they are flames.

    Theyre certainly not planes though.

    From my local paper

Like that but much faster (too fast for lanterns)

Why would they want to visit? Maybe their UPS (universal positioning system) broke so the female made them stop to ask for directions? Maybe they threaten to send their misbehaving kids here (do you want to end up like those pathetic humans.....well?.....DO YOU????)?

Maybe they're searching for buried treasure or on a treasure hunt? :rotfl:

Of course as for the distance part.....who's to say that they're travelling that far? Mars is only a jump hop and a skip away (ok maybe a little more than that but you get my drift). We dont know what life is on what planets. Just because there no proof to support something, doesnt mean it doesnt exist and vice versa (yes i'm one of those nuts who dont believe that the moon landing actually happened - space exploration is a industry that i think costs far too much money and attention when we should be focusing on the planet we live on that is in dire need of attention).

Failing all of that, how about visitors from the future?

We've at least studies every planet in the solar system ans sent probe to most there deficiently not any intelligent life anywhere beside Earth and that's questionable.

There are certain questions surrounding the cost of space travel. But it does have some huge R&R benefits for humans. Also satellite communication systems, Gps, the biro pen.

The proof that a gathering a nations with differences can work together to achieve a common goal. ie the ISS and some of the most amazing pictures.

Well we have probed 7 planets in one Solar System, I would agree NO intelligent lifeforms found in either, (Yes including Earth), now there is only the Billion, Billion, Billion Galaxies out there, each consisting of Millions upon Millions of Gas Clouds within each, that all contain in infinitesimal amount of Stars or Suns, each surrounded by their own Solar Systems with an as yet unknown quantity of planets surrounding each of them, left to go through.

We cannot realistically say there is no other intelligent life out there, either more or less advanced than our one little insignificant Planet, we just don't know.

What shamefully is true, is that we know more about outside our Planet, than the very Oceans upon it, still there is undiscovered life in our very own Oceans, but we are prepared to invest Billions more looking upward and outward, than the very Planet we depend and rely on.

Maybe they have cloaks like harry potter and can make themselves invisible? Activate cloaking device!!!!

(just in case anyone cant tell, my posts are made in jest - at least mostly)

I'm of the opinion that while i may say "i dont believe in......." i wont go as far to say they dont exist. I dont feel you can ever sufficiently have conclusive evidence to support that something doesnt exist. You can have evidence it does exist and you can have evidence that suggests in all probabilities it doesnt exist but cant ever know 100% that it doesnt exist. If that makes sense? :S
