Some days I steam ahead and get loads done, other days I just feel tired and do very little. I find I have to be in the mood for all that house work stuff. Sometimes it all just seems to be too boring. We are going on holiday Monday and it I don't do some ironing we will have nothing to wear. I was going to do it this evening but now I can't be bothered.
Usually I dont iron either but there are a few things that really need doing. Summer stuff is worse as natrual fibres show the creases more dont they.
Somtimes I write myself a list and get some of it done at least.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hunny you are juggling lots of balls at the moment so it will be difficult but try to make a little improvemet everyday and I swear you will see the benefits and then the motivation will come!
By the way we dont all have houses like something out of a magazine but Im sure we all have welcoming comfortable homes and hopefully feel better with every penny we have sssstttreetcchhed!Clearing the junk to travel light

Mostly I feel reasonably motivated about housework (though I will never be an Anthea Turner, thank God, as that level of cleaning & farting about is completely anal in my opinion) but when the house is messy and I don't feel much like it, I either set the kitchen timer for just 1 hour and put a load of effort in but stop as soon as it pings OR I tell myself 'Right, you've got to put 30 things away' or however many you think you'll do before getting bored & fed up. Sometimes I might decide I'll quickly put 5 things away in every advert break if I'm watching TV. Kitchen timer definitely works best for me though. If you know you are only going to be doing housework for 1 hour, you really power through it, racing against the clock, so it's probably a good calorie burner too (a definite bonus in my case!)2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

I think it is easy to be overwhelmed by everything you feel like doing, but as others have said, do it in stages, a bit at a time.
Also, no-one is 100% motivated all the time, we all have good and bad days. If you're having a 'bad' day, then accept it, try and do something to make your cheerful and relax and remember that the next day is always a fresh start.
Good luck0 -

i do this sometimes, i make myself and the wee one clean during all the adverts and we have an unspoken challenge to see who can do the most!
i also bargain with myself that i will have 'earned' 1 hour of play time on the computer (just a game for me, no surveys, no work of any kind just a game) if i do certain chores etc and that works for me quite often
i find that i can be very goal oriented and even though i know i'm just playing little mind games with myself i still enjoying reaching the goal
as for cleaning with the wee ones... i suggest you work with them to clear rooms. i can never get my 7 year old to clean her room without nagging and coming in and finding her playing etc etc so instead we clean rooms together and make wee games of it and that helps a lot with her motivation too0 -

See if you can get a copy of this book from the library. It's brilliant. The reviews on amazon will tell you about it better than me.0 -
I never iron either. I thought it was just me!:D What's the point of it? Decent food and reasonable cleanliness will do.0
