Hope all the ebaying goes well. Would some holiday work be possible? I'd imagine you won't have OU assignments. You could work in a shop you like so you can get staff discount? Lots of other things are seasonal.

omg I can't believe it is morning already I feel like I could sleep for a week, fell asleep talking to OH on skype last night which I'm sure has pleased him!!

I'm supposed to go to a tutorial today for my OU but I hate things like that and really don't want to go, so I'm debating at the moment whether to go or whether to go out tolunch with my mum instead!!

Give it a go- you may enjoy it more than you expect. Then you could treat yourself to afternoon tea with your mum.

sounds good Jellie, but I haven't got time to read up, but I will definitely go to the next one have promised myself. Have even looked through the course which I don't usually do until the last minute.

I'm determined to work hard at this one.

Really need to chill though am really stressy for some reason.

hmm have worked out why I'm stressy (amazing what a cup of tea and a biccie (or 4) can do for your sanity)

I'm worried about money, now I haven't been worried about money for years ( well not in the money coming in sense), but because I am now going to be on minimum wage, working 25 hours a week (I think thats about right for level1 teaching assistants??!! As I haven't been able to ask anyone as yet) I am going to be clearing about £500 a month I think, which is crazy when I think I have to pay £150 on the bills and food (OH foots the rest bless him), £81 on OU £15 phone, £22 car insurance, (must get rid of the loan as there is no room to be paying that!!!) and then I'll have petrol on top of that.

I think I will spend atleast £100 on petrol which leaves me with £130!!!! For everything.

Feel a bit sick to be honest, I need to save up for my next OU course as that will be £650, and I cant pay two off monthly as I will be left with about £50.........

deep breaths really need to figure out what I'm going to do!!!!!!

maybe taking this job wasn't such a good idea!!

I always think Missy you get more out of something the more you put in, even if you don't think you will. So at the minute you're not enjoying your course, perhaps if you go to the next tutorial, do all the reading, and *pretend* you're interested in teh subject, it might just turn out to be interesting? (might not, but you never know!)

(should really take my own advice sometimes :rotfl:)

Hope you're feeling a bit better today. I'm still stressy too, wonder if it's something in the air...

Well done for identifying what's stressing you! :T That's half the battle :T

Next job of course is finding out how much you will actually be earning - might just be better than you think.

Then - are you doing two OU courses at once? And are you suggesting it might make more financial sense to drop down to doing one at a time, even if it takes you longer? Because then that'd free up a little bit of time for perhaps a few hours a week of work for tea-and-scones playing money.

Can you do bus instead of driving, would that work out cheaper? Get over to Old Style and see if you can drop your grocery bills, make that £130 go further. What do you usually spend in a month, have you got a spending diary? Might make it less scary to see what there is available for you to cut out?

thanks daffs, you are right of course, Most of what goes out cant be changed to be honest, its just how i can make some extra money. Think my cupcake/cake making business may be a way of making some extra money!

Will have a think whilst i am out with my mum and see what i can come up with x
