I'm almost certain the clutch has gone on my 51plate suzuki swift.:(

The clutch pedal goes down very easily now (sorry can't think of a better way to describe it!:o) and although I can put the gearstick in gear, nothing happens.:(

Does anyone have any idea roughly how much this will cost to fix?

I'm having a nightmare of a day! First my debit card was skimmed and I have no access to any money until it's sorted, now this!!! Aaarghhh!!!:(

Sorry for the rant, just feeling a bit peed off!:o

That happened on my focus, it was the master slave cylinder near the clutch pedal that went, not quite sure on suzuki's but check to see if that has gone first
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    Thanks!

I'm going to have to wait until next week to take it to the garage, so hoping my boyfriend and brother-in-law might be able to have a wee look and pinpoint what's actually gone wrong so as not to get ripped off at the garage, so will mention this to them.

let me get this straight clutch pedal goes down and gear selector moves as if going in to gear but when releasing pedal nothing happens??
if thats the case either the clutch lining is well and truly knackered essentially breaking link between engine and gearbox or as said there is a gearbox selector issue.

Yeah that's what's happening. Would the problems above be a big job?

if it is linkage off it could be a simple click back on,or could need new.not sure of the exact setup of your car without looking at it.

if it is the clutch then then that is a bigger more expensive job that needs gearbox out.has the car been playing up lately for example clutch slipping or was it a sudden fault?? if it was sudden then i doubt it is clutch but always a possibility.
just though of another option could be the slave cylinder/selector fork stuck with clutch engaged difficult to diagnose without actually seeing the fault so all the are only possibles.
lets hope it is the cheaper option.

Now you come to mention it, it's been a struggle to get into 3rd gear lately.

I've tried all the gears and it's the same, though my boyfriend got it into reverse and then managed to drive it down the street and back in 1st and 2nd, but it was revving like mad!

If it was the clutch gone you would still be able to engage the gears, but there wouldn't be much bite i9n the clutch if it was that.

As already stated, it is likely to be the gear selector that has broke or come loose
