New BT Broadband: How long should I wait?

After some variable recent performance from my Tiscali/TalkTalk connection, I thought I'd switch to BT.

Went through all the sales spiel, was told my home hub would be delivered on the 27th July (and it was) and I'd be able to go online at midnight. I thought this was all pretty efficient but gave it until the evening of the 28th to try.

No connection. So I phoned up and was told that someone would phone back the next day. They didn't.

So I phoned up, was told there was a problem and they'd phone me the next day.

Next day arrives and I get a text just now telling me that they're "working with their suppliers to resolve this and will be back in contact with an update in the next 2 working days" (today being Friday).

I still have my old internet connection, which is adequate for now. Am I being impatient by cancelling BT?

What's a reasonable amount of time for me to wait?

Perhaps they can't get an engineer out to the exchange, who are you with ATM and are they an LLU operator?

My advice - use the TalkTalk internet until the BT connection takes over otherwise you are likely to end up with nothing.

Of course it may not be LLU yet but from what has been said I'm assuming it is.

Pity the OP picked BT but there you are...

Is it any wonder customers have no confidence in BT?
