BT Price hike despite 12 month contract ?

A while ago I renewed my 12 month "Evening and Weekend calling plan with Friends and Family Mobile deal" with BT.

In their letter they promised me "...the same calls at no extra charge (plus line rental at £11.54) for another year."

(Notice that the amount of the line rental is specifically mentioned.)

Now they email me to tell me that they are increasing the line rental in October. Is this a breach of our contract?

It seems very unfair. On one hand, BT will penalise me if I want to escape the contract within 12 months, yet on the other hand they deem it acceptable to move goalposts themselves!

Opinions most welcome.
