Why would two mice die at the same time?

Hi,
We've had two pet mice for about a year, from when they were babies.
They were both skuttling about fine this morning.
They were next seen 3 hours later stiff as a board. Laying next to each other - one on its side one on its back with paws in the air.
I can't understand what could have killed them both at basically the same time. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim

They could of been having a fight one has killed the other and the surviving one has had a heart attack this happened a few years ago to two of my hamsters.
Sorry for your loss

A heart attack brought on by guilt??
Thanks, but if I'm honest they lost their appeal with the kids about 6 months ago. (Which, for ours, is the longest a pet has been of interest for.) DS (6) is gutted, but is happily decorating a shoe box for them to be buried in.0 -
erm
just a thought, do you have gas in the home, a boiler etc...
have you a carbon monoxide checker thingie?
That's exactly what I was going to say - please check your carbon monoxide levels. We may be just being paranoid but it's not worth the risk.House saving Targets:

Good call on the CO checker. You think they could have been an early warning alarm for us?
Anyone know a good place to get a carbon monoxide checker from that will be open after 6?0 -
Large supermarkets sell them, also the big DIY stores.0
