2 Sims 1 Phone
Options
Currently sharing a smartphone with 500mb data usage a month from O2.
We only have 80mb left for 5 days, so having to be careful.
If we were to get another sim and pay £10 p/m to top that sim for 500mb from that sim, would that be okay to do and would it work, or is it the phone that can only do 500mb? It's PAYG.
In summary - can we pay for 2 sims £10 p/m each to get 1000mb data and just change over the sims when needed?

I don't see any reason why this can't be done. Obviously, the second SIM would have a different number but that shouldn't be an issue. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I looked into this last year, unfortunately the dual sim adapters I found required you to cut the sim to microsim size and won't guarantee to work either. Most of the adapters I've seen only appear to cater for 2G network usage. I've not seen any yet, that claim to work at 3G speeds. This could be the reason why most don't work with the 3 network.
If you are only browsing websites I would recommend you use OperaMini which will cut down your bandwidth usage considerably, which can make your 500MB limit go a very long way.
Also, if you plan on topping up a 2nd sim @ £10, why not just top up your current one? You could get an extra 500MB for £5 addon? or is that 1GB for £7.50? I forget!
Oh in case you weren't aware, you can get a PAYG Text & Web sim, and top that up £10 a month to get free 300text & 500MB data and still have your £10 credit to use towards any voice calls.
Hope that helps.0 -

I think they mean swap them over as in physically take them out and change them.
There shouldn't be a problem but you can get a better deal than £20 for 1gb I'm sure."We are the change that we seek."0
