, paying on line and then going for fitting, seems a bit risky if they run out of stock of what you have paid for.

Should I just go to a local independant place?

My experience is you can't order if they don't have it - this was with Camskill.

I do know of some who have complained about buying stuff on line, (particularly on eBay) then having to wait for stock. What do you do if you have a problem and need to make a claim? You may save a few quid, but is it worth the hassle?

That's why you take advice form those who have bought tyres online and go to reputable companies -I wouldn't use e-bay to buy tyres.

I saved £50 - well worth the "hassle".

Another vote for Camskill, no one locally stocked or could get the tyres I wanted delivered in a practical time frame, camskill were next day and it was the 23rd of Dec!

Just check you have somewhere that will fit them for you as not all places are willing to fit tyres not supplied by them, My local ATS were (and no I did not need new disks pads and exhaust at the same time!)

I've used blackcircles a few times and have never had a problem - they know when you're coming and hold the tyres. No different to calling someone up and saying "I'll be in tomorrow for two new tyres" - sure, they could sell the things before you get there, but it doesn't usually work like that.

Are you a member of Costco?

They're pretty cheap, not quite as cheap as online though.

I used eTyres a few months ago. Their service was excellent, and they came to my work place to fit the tyres. They were also £400 cheaper than the local Kwikfit for 4 tyres.

I used Tyre Shopper once and didn't have any problems.

Blackcircles, no pressure when you arrive, just fitted and on your way.
