Just got rid of a couple that came in as oh left the house, I think it's the way they just float into your face that I hate. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Apparently, spiders dont like citrus smells, so if you wipe the corners (and places they like to go) with something citrus smelling you should find they stay away from those areas!!!! That, and the hoover attachments.........0

Two of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels love chasing these. They usually catch them too when they fly low. Trouble is they then eat them, which is disgusting! But at least it gets rid of the pesky critters!0

I like crane flies. Watching them swim with their legs as they fly is entertaining. They are totall harmless, you can catch them in a cupped hand and push them out of the window.
Someone told me that they only survive for 24 hours anyway. Is this true?Happy chappy0 -
my other half thinks they have a poisonous bite?Ive not heard this before is it true?0

Yes, apparently 50 people a year are admitted to hospital because of crane flie bites.
No.Happy chappy0 -
Ohh we've got loads of these, driving me mad. I put 18 out of my kitchen the other morning! I'm now letting them out the window/door every time I see one but still finding loads dead each day. From my experience with the number of dead ones around, only living for 24 hours sounds about right.
Same thing happened last year, luckily it only lasts for a few weeks...we moved last year and close to us are a few empty fields - we get loads of pretty butterflies in the summer as compensation (but at least they don't come into the house).0 -

They seem to be a bit like moths in that they're attracted to light. Luckily we have a huge street light just outside the garden and usually they're off like a shot.
As long as you remember to shut the window afterwards you'll be ok. I forgot in our bedroom last night. I was watching the TV when a Daddy Longlegs flew into my mouth !!!!!!!

Harmless but frightening when it flops clumsily around your face!. They grow from fat grubs in the grass that attack some plant roots. By the time they hatch and fly they are harmless to man or beast. If you can bring yourself to do it, just catch them in a glass and let them go outside.
I was starting to get confused. Our Daddy Long Legs are way different. They are a type of spider.
Never seen your type but how interesting. Off to have a read.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Against my usual morals Ive killed 2 today. Im not proud of myself. Will dig around for some citrus oil today for the burner with a touch of luck that might see them off! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
