Which is probably how long we will have to wait for our cheques! Still waiting!!! Santander get a grip!

Some news: I've finally received my cheque this morning. The accompanying letter was dated 6 August so it seems their bureaucracy means it's taking more than a week to send out the cheques.

Good luck to all those still waiting, hopefully you'll get yours by early next week. For me this is so reminiscent of the whole Icesave fiasco. Santander will never darken my door again.

Just posting my experiences this week. I called up A+L on Tuesday (was on hold for about 5 minutes), they closed my online saver 5 and opened an esaver and my OS balanced was transferred immediately and my interest was in the new esaver account within 2 days. It couldn't have gone smoother.

Still waiting!!!!!!! My husband did an ISA transfer from one Santander ISA product to another and has heard nothing after 2 weeks so went into branch today, to be told it could take up to a month to transfer from one ISA (internal) to another. Not a happy bunny, he said noone told him this when he went in to transfer. And they said they couldnt speed things up, its "in the system". Think its another case of "computer says no"

Is it just me and had bad luck with this account, or is anyone else still waiting for the closing balance cheque to arrive from A & L re the online saver 5 account. It has now been 2 weeks and nothing at all. It has been sitting in a Santander "holding account" for a week now. Am getting really cheesed off with it all. Am I just being impatient or is anyone else still waiting. Would be grateful for any replies just so fed up now!!! Thanks:mad:

How's best to close this account without phoning the script monkeys and waiting on a cheque in the post?

Wish I knew!!!!!!!!!!! So utterly fed up with Santander they told me last week it would be within 5 days, then 7 to 10 days, now its 2 weeks and I have heard nothing. Does anyone know if I could hit them for loss of interest, its quite a sizeable amount I am waiting on. Cant understand what the problem is, other than the obvious I suppose that they are holding my money in their account earning them interest.:mad::mad::mad:

We have lift off Heuston!!!!!!! Cheque arrived at last today, date of issue 11th August, so it took a week to arrive!. Phew was beginning to worry about this as everyone else seemed to be sorted. What a palaver.

At long last, JJ. My cheque took 8 days - dated 6 Aug and arrived 14 Aug. At least we can put this miserable episode behind us now.
