:)When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

Morning all,

Good morning all. Yippee, it's Friday at last and payday for me even if it's by cheque  but I have a plan - see below .....

    So far today I have:
    • run DW overnight
    • run WM overnight x2
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered chickens
    • got egg money from a customer
    I will also:
    • buy 2 bread rolls for lunch (cost 50p but my Friday treat to myself)
    • take HM yogurt for pudding
    • go to bank and CASH WAGES CHEQUE :T (Boss has arranged with his bank that we can do this, even though the cheques are made out to us individually)
    • meet DH at lunchtime so he can take my wages cash into town to pay in my bank so I don't go overdrawn when my DDs go out on Monday
    • send DH shopping
    • have a self-pamper session tonight as I deserve it :D
Catch up with you all later, Stitchy x

    TGIF :)

I have my first domesticated dinner party tonight and I've decided to be brave and cook a curry from a recipe book my boss has given me so quite nervous (even more so as they are not my friends but the OH's friends! - eek!)

    So my plan for today:

    - Pay old housemate outstanding bills (value £31ish)
    - Call water company and pay bill and then set up DD for future months
    - Go to butchers and grocers to get suitable ingredients for tonights curry
    - Post off form to get put onto the electoral register
    - Try to empty as much rubbish out of car ready for big clean tomorrow morning
    - Attempt not to poison OH's friends with my cooking
    - Once cooking and eating is done, relax and enjoy some wine and have a good night :)
:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j

    Morning!
    Yes most definately TGIF sara!!!
Enjoy your holiday moggie, and thanks for starting us cat

Today I am not going to be very DFW....

    - Need to go home at lunch time to hang out washing as DD was being "difficult" this morning and it took us a LONG time to get ready. This uses extra fuel...boo hoo.
    - Check to see if voucher has arrived from survey site, £10 Mr T's.
    - Do some OnePoll
    - No opportunities for a purge today
    - Left mob at home so no texting...:p
    - Rejig budget as Ex is giving me £500 not £300 so will see whether it's best to keep it til next month and pay next month's bills with it or whack it off the Next account straight away. I think the Next bill comes through about the 7th so I won't have long to wait until I can pay it. Yes in fact I think I will do this, it's only a week away really.
    - Work VERY hard today with the few customers I have in....

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Have a great time in Devon Mogchops x

It is a full day off for me today, so I have been looking forward to a fun day out with the kids. We are getting the open-top bus to Swanage and will spend the day there on the beach, mooching round town and having a picnic. It is actually far far cheaper for the 3 of us to go by bus than pay for fuel and parking and the ferry ! The bus will cost about £11, and hopefully with minimal spends there we will have a fab, frugal day out.

    Also today I:
    1) Have checked banking, quidco, did SC etc
    2) Hokey cokey drying in the sun.
    3) Replenished the household toileteries from my stash.
    4) Refilled soap pumps with cheap shower gel.
    5) Used conditioner instead of shaving foam (on my legs!).
    6) Made a picnic up with Approved Food goodies.

    Have a funky day everyone!

    Morning All
:jyippee it's Friday (I don't go to work, but Popeye does, so he will be at home.)

    So today I have/will:
    • read the papers on-line
    • make a menu plan for next week - I was thinking this morning that we could postpone shopping until Monday, and just eat the contents of the fridge :) but OH has just e-mailed to say he's inviting the boss for supper over the weekend.
    • do 30 mins on the cross trainer (didn't do it yesterday, & slept badly from doing so little in the day)
    • continue knitting sis a shrug (another one-how boring am I?;)) for her Christmas present. Fab wool too!
    • do a home manicure (I don't really save anything as I never paid for one before....)
    • had a NSD yesterday :jand will have another one today :j(no car!)
    • make a list of jobs for Popeye to do over the weekend ;)- putting pictures up etc.

Popeye didn't notice I'd done my hair until he spotted the empty hair dye box in the bin, I suppose I should be grateful that he hadn't noticed my roots either? :p
Have a great day everybody :A
