Hi,
The house we are purchasing is all going through and we are hoping to move in on Friday of next week!
One thing, the telephone has been disconnected. Does anyone have any idea of the costs involved with reconnecting a telephone and have any idea of how we go about doing it?
Many thanks

So long as the lineplant has not been used elsewhere it may well be free as it would just be a case of activating the line at the exchange. If any part has been used between the telephone exchange and your property then you'll likely have to pay a fee which I believe to be around £125, and there will also be a minimum term to sign up to.
Edit: I am assuming you would be signing up with BT. Other operators may have different costs.0 -
We recently moved into a house which was empty for 1yr. I was going to stay with BT but as there was no BT line in the house, then there would be reconnection charge of £120. There was a virgin cable box in the house but not in use - we got a great deal through a friend but we paid no connection charge and I believe that they are still advertising this - its worth checking.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

It may be possible to push the connector on the end of the phone back into the socket on the wall.0
