Unlocked HTC Desire will it work on 3?

Just wondering if anyone knew if an unlocked HTC desire would work on the 3 UK network, the reason I ask is that I see that quite a few unlocked phones wont work on 3.

I don't want to sign up for a new contract as at present I am only paying £10 per month for 500mins x-network and/or texts which is a special price after they upset me the last time they upgraded my phone.

Also, just wanted to know can I add an internet addon to the phone and then connect the phone to my laptop to get internet on the laptop on the rare occasions I may need it?

It'll work on 3, they sell it.

The phone that won't work are any that aren't 3g. As 3 have to pay to have their none 3 g traffic carried on other networks, so they aren't going let none 3g phone on at all. . .
