How do I change from contract to PAYG?

Options
Hi!

I'm wanting to change my O2 contract, to an O2 pay as you go. I've got my PAC number from them, but I'm not sure what to do now. Do I ring O2 up and give them the PAC number and they can change it over, or do I need to get a new sim card first?

I'm looking at their simplicity plans, but I'm not sure what to do. I use a lot of texts, and I sometimes check the internet on the phone, but use very little minutes. I only make calls in emergencies out of the house, otherwise I make calls from the house phone.

Thanks!

You don't use pac codes to move within the same network, they're for moving network with.

Just call O2 CS and tell them you wan to move to payg, they'll send you a payg sim. Once you get that call them and register it. Your contract sim will stop and your number will move to the new sim. Job done. . .

I thought that was what happened with PAC codes, but the guy insisted on me filling in a form to get the number. I'll give them a ring again tomorrow and speak to someone else. Thanks!

Please stop posting this incorrect information. It is very misleading for people with a lack of understanding of MNP. You still need a PAC if you are changing service provider and remaining with the same network. O2 PAYG and O2 PAYM operate as different SPs.
