I agree here.
Its compensation. They damaged your goods!0 -
See if you can find an e-mail for the CEO of Currys OP and send an e-mail to them... should get it sorted.0

Just sent an email to John Browett CEO Dixons, Curry's, PC World.
We shall see!0 -
In response to my email to the CEO I have now received a response from a Customer Solutions Team Leader:
Quote 'I have assigned your case to a member of my Customer Solutions Team and they willbe contacting you shortly to discuss your matter on behalf of the DSG Retail Limited Executives.'
I wonder if they will be replacing my tv as requested.
Also they have asked for my telephone number. Should I insist on a written (email?) response?

Surely they could also REFUND the TV, which would mean your options would be a £599 refund, or paying £25 for an £850 TV? Are the two models IDENTICAL? It would be a bit like having paid £25 for 6 months hire of a tv, then being given a new one surely??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Just a quick update. No response from letter sent to the store and no response from Customer Solutions Team = no tv. Any suggestions about what next?0

The OP is on cloud cuckoo land. They could just issue a refund for £599.00 then its the OP's problem about brand etc.
£25 for a superior TV worth a lot more seems reasonable to me and if the OP doesnt like it he should ask for a refund.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
Judas is a troll - please ignore (or report him), there are several posts about him.0

Update: now received phone call from Currys Customer services. They have offered me the LG TV (£599.00) plus £25.00 for my trouble!
When I explained that the branch had told me I could have the Samsung TV if I paid £50.00 was told this was nothing to do with them - so no comment.
I was prepared to pay the £50.00 to get the TV but she then said she would phone the branch and get back to me. She spoke to the man who dealt with me and he has denied offering the Samsung for an extra £50.00 :mad::mad:.
Obviously he is lying but can't prove it as I did not get it in writing.
Now feel like crying. I am just an ordinary customer but feel like they can do and say to me whatever they want when they want.0 -
Email carl.nicklin@samsung.com and explain the situation to him. He is the UK service manager for Samsung and is very big on customer service.
He normally responds the same day and will be able to offer a solution or kick currys up the backside.
Just done this and got a response within 5 mins!!!! Says he will contact Currys direct.0
