The only propoganda capmaign is coming from the Birtish Dairy Association, Assured British Meat and their cohorts.
Guffaw indeed. If it's propoganda you want to see - look at any of half a dozen anti-farming organisations websites i could mention. Now show me the pro-farming propoganda that's as outlandish as the anti-farming type.
Photos can be set-up. Videos can be edited to form any argument. Testimonials are 'authored'.
Farming is for the most part a perfectly legitimate industry. Unfortunately like in any other part of life there are bad examples who give everyone a bad name.
Let's not turn this into an argument shall we.
There seem to be 2 distinct opinions on this thread as well as those wanting to form their own opinion.
I think that by know those on the fence will have enough information to be able to form their own opinion.0 -

I'm just giving my opinion that often inacurate facts and 'horror' stories are used to form the basis of incorrect opinions.
If you are offended by this then I apologise - but we're all entitled to an opinion. Incidentally, why would I want to insult anybody. I have tried to give a fair and balanced opinion that is based on the facts available.
If you choose to eat or live your life in any particular way, that's your choice. All I'm saying is that I believe that if people want to base those decisions on facts, then they should ensure that the facts they have are accurate, and not part of a growing propoganda campaign that is spreading against farming as an industry.
I am not, contrary to what anyone may think, trying to offend or insult anyone. I have merely decided to add my opinions to this open discussion.
Thank you.

Yes my chosen words 'ignoramuses who scream out' are aimed at those people who are ignorant of the true facts yet still decide to publicise (or make people aware of) things based on their incomplete 'truths'.
If you feel that you fit into this category, then maybe yes, It was aimed at people like yourself - however, maybe the point to take then is that both sides of any argument should know the whole truths.
Not personally directed at you. Unless of course, you choose to be in that category. Let's not turn this into a 'one-up' slagging match which will get people knowhere.0 -

The fact that they stock it must mean that it sells, but who would buy beef shipped from Argentina regardless of its organic status?
The British public have been consuming nonorganic beef imported from Argentina & Uruguay for decades! Perhaps you're too young to remember Fray Bentos meat pies.I'm all for using the least chemicals in our food, but I'm all for buying local too.
I couldn't agree more. The UK organic food market grew 30% last year - that's one heck of a jump in one year - and the encouraging thing is that two-thirds of that increase was home-grown!
IMO, we shouldn't underestimate consumer power. If we vote with our wallets, we can eat organic and reduce food miles. What could be greener or more ethical than that?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
