Can positive pregnancy tests be wrong?

  • Hi guys,

    Thanks for your comments!

I have just done another Clear Blue and guess what....PREGNANT!!! It says 1-2 weeks again and this ties in with how far I would be gone so I think I definately am, had the sore boobs and a bit of nausea.

I have already been to doctors on Monday just gone and they said they didn't need to do a 'conformation' test as the Clear blue tests are as accurate as theirs. (I even took the test in with me in a sandwich bag to show her lol)

So once again thank you so much for your replies, they made me feel a bit better when I was taking the test again.

Does anyone know where I can go on the forums now to follow other mummy-to-bes? I'm a bit new to this!

    Thanks!!!

    Clare x

Hi Clare Try bounty http://www.bounty.com/ to connect with other pregnant mummies. As you look at the screen on your left there is a forum drop down box, just choose the month you are due in and join! There is also a 12 weeks and less thread on here (sorry its on this bit of the forum but cant find it just now)
and a general preg thread as well

Or she could do what everyone else does and take 5 tests a day until the doctor confirms it! Let me know if you go with this option and i'll quickly buy some shares
With both my pregnancies, the doctor never bothered to confirm it -he just said that the home tests are accurate enough, and if he did a test there it would just be the same test that I'd done at home.

I got a false positive before, and it was done by a nurse in a hospital A&E department!!!

(so yes, you can have false positives, but they are rare - I had to beg her to do another test just as I was so sure I wasn't pregnant!)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
