Sky - the worst company ever?

I meant the way sports are run by Sky.
Fixtures and kick off times, scheduled to Skys timetables

if it be from adverts or sky tv
But at least we can avoid putting any money directly in to their bank account.;)0 -
Actually I only really went with Sky because I require unlimited (cap free) broadband. I'd pay £25.99 for this anywhere else and was quoted £36 for everything included so was happy enough with the deal. If only I could get it connected... still no progress this morning. Am on the phone to them now as I type. Last night I was told Customer Solutions would call me at 6pm to tell me what happened. I've no doubt in my mind that 6pm is probably end of the shift for the guy I spoke to.
ADDITIONAL: Called them back this morning to be told that BT didn't find a problem at the exchange (surprise surprise) and that they are going to relog the call but talk to the engineer at the exchange while they are doing the work. I'll believe this when I see it.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -

Maybe, I don't doubt it but the though of directly giving money to SKY makes me want to blow chunks."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Rhode Island is their smallest state about 1,000 sq/mdaniel.thomas4 wrote: »not really.... the uk is tiny. look at the usa. you will fit 5 uk island in there smallest state.
now think TVO:D
Uk is about 95,000 sq/m .
You must have meant their largest state which is Alaska which is 5x as big as the UK:)0 -

I must admit i'd never had a problem with Sky in the past but only recently i returned to them after a year with Virgin. Virgin were supposed to be bad on customer service but i never had a problem. Sky on the other hand have been pretty much a nightmare. We've had to keep Virgin Media on for a second month now just for the broadband connection because Sky effed up our Talk and Broadband order and therefore cannot install them yet. Not regretting moving yet but any more problems and that thought may start to creep in to my head.0

Well, my Sky nightmare was finally resolved on Friday. I'd spent some of friday writing letters of complaint to various individuals higher up at Sky but that wasn't what got it fixed.
So Friday late afternoon I get a call from a BT engineer directly. He says he's going to come and check my line - and around 4:30 he turns up. A proper grumpy sod. He looks really confused for a while, and then heads outside. Lifts one of the concrete slabs in the street and spends like 20 minutes messing around with loads of wires and stuff. When he comes back in, he explains that my Sky phone line was connected to another house down the street and that it had never been in my property. Anyway, the line is now up and working as expected. Better still though, I'm getting just short of 8Mb download speed (despite various websites showing the houses around me getting between 2 and 4mb).
On Sunday, I get a call from a woman at Sky who tells me she's calling in response to a complaint I wrote to one of the high up people (can't remember which one). I tell her that if Sky changed their system so one representative owns the call from start to finish it would improve things greatly for the customer. I imaging this will go unheard. Anyway, as a good faith gesture, she offers me half price package for 6 months.
So it's all done - but what a battle. I haven't fought that hard for anything in ages.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -
^^ Nice one, glad you got it sorted.
I would still rather put my balls in a meat grinder than give Rupert or Sky TV a single farthing of my hard earned cash

They do get themselves in a pickle sometimes. I had a problem with my Sky broadband a couple of months back so I phoned them up and was told that I didn't have Sky broadband (it wasn't a connection issue). I'd been using it for months at this point but the lady on the phone would not take my word for it and was adamant that I was leeching off of another apartments connection in the block and there was absolutely no way I had Sky broadband.
After I sent them a letter with a speedtest.net image proving they were the supplier they called me and admitted they were talking nonsense.0
