deleted stuff i should't

hi

omg i cant believe i've done this but i needed some disc space and deleted my microsoft works and excel, the documents appear to be there but cant open them, so if i reinstall works and excel will this open all the documents i have,,,,

any help will be most helpfull

    Yes, if you have the documents there, and all that's missing is the program to open them.

    (Apparently I had to use more than 10 letters to write a reply, so just Yes wasn't enough!)

    not sure about that, but if you want to download Open Office, it works with MS Office documents and is free.

    Yes if you reinstale the program if you still have the discs or download it again if you have an activation code (if not you will get a free trial) then all the documents you have will still be able to open. Do you not have the original setup folder from when you first installed it or was it preinstalled when you bought the computer? If you make regular backups or restore points this should undo the damage you have done.... :rotfl:

    However, in my opinion Open Office is a much better option as it is free and can open word and excel etc documents......

    Just because it's free doesn't mean its better.

    True but on a moneysaving website it can never be a bad thing.... Ive never had any problems with Open Office

    Well that all depends on if they do still have it as the OP hasnt said.... if came preinstalled on the computer then they no longer have it...... :p

    Hang on the OP did say microsoft works so yeah OpenOffice is much better, hell AbiWord and Jarte are better than works.
