  • Just a £1.50 spend for me today - a new set of measuring spoons 'cause two of mine had lost their handles. Need to buy stamps and post something Special Delivery tomorrow so there will be further spending!

Hugs to all who need them.

Took Mum shopping at Morries the other day because she couldn't get there herself....i ended up spending about £33. I could have kicked myself when i got home because i could have managed with what i had got in at home. Oh well, this months budget is well and truly blown. Will adjust my signature shortly.

This week I'm adding £48.40 for our weekly shop. This gives me a total of £207.95 for the month so far :T. This has been helped mainly by the fact we went on a little holiday this month and DH went away for a weekend so me and the kids ate what was in the freezer. So we've still got around £42 :j

Next month I'm planning on going on a diet [STRIKE]again[/STRIKE]:o. I've just ordered a wii fit plus paid entirely from surveys so it hasn't cost me a penny :T

£8.68 today on bread, milk, cat foods and dishwasher cleaner. Thats it now till I start the Sept challenge next week, with a lower target. I've learned so much on here that I'm sure I can get it down quite a bit :T

I spent £16 yesterday, and OH spent £17.20 on 'bank holiday' beer and treats, so probably close to my limit, if not over. On the positive side, my spends this month include a specialist pressure relieving bed for my very arthritic dog (£55), and a quiz magazine subscription (£25), for posting competitions, so they are one off spends.

I've been wanting to buy the dog bed for a while, and cutting back on food spending has made it possible, so I'm very happy about that. The magazine is my treat, and a chance to give a bit back to all the people who take time to post competitions. So, even if we have crept over budget a bit, it's a decent drop from our usual £500-600 monthly food spends (before I lost my job), and not bad at all.

Thanks so much everyone who posts on this thread, I think I'd still be struggling at £450+ a month without it.

Off to update siggy, have a good day all.

    Morning peeps

Happy Anniversary Greent  enjoy your day!

Well i`ve been to the shops :o I didn`t need anything but had to call to the dry cleaners etc so popped in as i have some money left and picked up some of the offers, i`ll seperate my receipts and then update my siggy.

The best offer was the daz at MrM as its £6 for a huge box, it says 50 washes but i never go on that these days with the companies reducing the amount of powder and keeping the amount of the washes the same on the box  It actually weighs 4.08 kilos so a good buy. I don`t actually need any (surprise surprise) as i have enough washing powder to take me well into next year but that was too good an offer to pass up on so i`ll take it out of next months budget.

I`ve just washed out my large flat storage box that will fit underneath our bed as i intend to fill it with a few extras for spare winter supplies in case we get snowed in like last year, looking at the weather lately i`d say that anything is possible so buying one extra item a week will mean that the extra cost is spread and if we don`t need to open the box until the bad weather has passed that will be a good stash for after Christmas when funds are short. I have just popped 3 bags of flour into the freezer for a couple of days and then they will go into the box and i already have a box of dried yeast and some long life milk to go in there :D

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Thanks very much for the support cw18 :) but I've blown the budget today unfortunately.

Home delivery from A$da and then spends in £idl, Te$co & Icel@nd - walked to the last 3, a 1¾ mile round trip in the pouring rain, but needs must when things are cheaper elsewhere. My word, it's been a miserable day, hasn't it? Solid rain all day.

Anyhoo, spends totalled £59.41 bringing my spends so far to £279.31, so I'm already £4.31 over my £275 target, and I've just realised I need onions and mushrooms for Fridays tea :(

Had 16 pints of milk delivered from A$da today - we used to get through 4 pints per day, but now DD is on Slimfast it's more like 6. So there is no way 16 pints is gonna last us until next Tuesday.

I've tried so hard too :( Oh well. It's difficult when my daughters appetites and fancies vary so much due to the medication she's on, but I need to be able to stick to £275 otherwise it's borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, and I can't be having that.

Got to be stricter with myself next month. so myself and I need to have harsh words with each other :rotfl:

I'll continue to keep a tally up till the end of the month, and just try even harder in September.

Well done to all those who are still within budget :T and to those of you who aren't but have tried :T

Hi I don't know if this will help but I am also on slim fast. The rest of my tribe have full fat milk, so I have taken to buying skimmed milk powder, adding it to water with the sf. As I'm blending it anyway I can't tell the difference and it saves a fortune :)

    Morning all

We've just been to stay with the folks for a couple of days which has really bailed me out!

Before we went I was in use-up mode so didn't buy much and I didn't spend anything on food while we were there so I've still got about £80 left 'til Tues.

However...I'm going to make a big hole in that this morning as I've got a T*sco shop coming any minute which will be about £60 leaving about £20 cash to last. Might just make it (I think I say that every month :().

    Best wishes to Mrs-Moneypenny.

Sorry to hear about your freezer Highland Fling and your car laisbojar83 - it is so frustrating when we try so hard to get ahead and these things happen.

    Happy anniversary greent.

Have a good day everybody and good luck with the last lap - under or not we're all going in the right direction :)
